Francisco Herreros Vázquez

Es doctor en Ciencia Política y Sociología por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y doctor miembro del Centro de Estudios Avanzados en Ciencias Sociales del Instituto Juan March (2002).

Ha completado su formación con un Master en Ciencias Sociales del Instituto Juan March (1999) y estancias en la Universidad de Michigan (1999) y la Universidad de Essex (2001, 2002 y 2006).

Ha sido Fernand Braudel Senior Fellow en el Instituto Universitario Europeo de Florencia (2015), visiting fellow (2008) en All Souls College (Universidad de Oxford), Santander Fellow en St.Antony's College (Universidad de Oxford, 2012-2013), academic guest of the Sociology Group en Nuffield College (Universidad de Oxford, 2010) y visiting scholar en la Universidad de Nueva York (2003-2004).

Ha presentado trabajos en los congresos de la American Political Science Association (2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2016, 2017), la MidwestPoliticalScience Association (2007, 2009, 2011, 2014) y el European Consortium for Political Research (1999, 2000, 2002, 2003 y 2007)

Ha recibido el premio extraordinario de doctorado a la mejor tesis doctoral de la Facultad de Ciencias Políticas y Sociología de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2003), el premio de la Asociación Española de Ciencia Política al mejor libro publicado en 2004 (The Problem of Forming Social Capital. Why Trust?) y el premio de la Revista Internacional de Sociología al mejor artículo publicado en el período 2000-2003.

Sus líneas de investigación son el análisis de la violencia política, el capital social y la confianza y la teoría democrática.
